Privacy Policy

Sleepy Saga is built for parents to read to their children. Our privacy promise is simple: we collect the minimum needed to run your account, and we never collect personal information about your child.

Who we are

Sleepy Saga is built and operated in India. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@sleepysaga.com. If a fuller registered business name or local representative becomes legally required, we will update this policy with that information.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
• Display name — the name on your account, typically the parent's or household's, not a child's.
• Subscription & payment status — your plan and whether it's active. On iOS, payment is handled entirely by Apple's In-App Purchase system; on the website, by our payment processor. Card details never touch our servers.
• Reading preferences — the age ranges and language you choose, so we can pick the right stories.
• Usage analytics — which screens you open, which stories and chapters you read, and which stories you favorite. Tied to your account to run features like "continue reading" and your favorites list, and used in aggregate to improve the service. Not shared with advertisers — no third-party ad identifiers or cross-app tracking.

What we never collect

• Your child's name, photo, voice, exact age or birthdate (beyond the age range you browse), or any other personal information about them.
• Location data.
• Contacts, microphone, or camera access.

Third-party service providers

We rely on the following providers to run Sleepy Saga. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:

• Firebase / Google Cloud — account authentication, our database, and usage analytics. This infrastructure may process data outside India; Google is bound by its own data-processing terms as our processor.
• Apple — In-App Purchase processing and Sign in with Apple, on iOS.
• Google Sign-In — an optional way to log in, if you choose it instead of email/password.
• Our payment processor — for website purchases.
• Our hosting provider — to serve sleepysaga.com.

We don't sell or rent your data to anyone, and we don't show third-party advertising.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes, or where data has already been anonymized for analytics.

Children's privacy

Accounts are created and managed by adults. Sleepy Saga is designed so children never enter any information — there are no profiles for kids, no chat, no comments, and no ads. We comply with children's data protection expectations, including COPPA-aligned practices and India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act provisions on children's data. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or full deletion of your account at any time by writing to hello@sleepysaga.com. Deletion is completed within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, the GDPR in the EU/UK or the DPDP Act in India) — we honor those rights regardless of where you're located.

To raise a grievance about your personal data under India's DPDP Act, 2023, contact our Grievance Officer at hello@sleepysaga.com. We'll acknowledge and address grievances within the statutory timelines, with the right to escalate to the Data Protection Board of India once established.

Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, session data in the iOS app is stored in the device's secure Keychain, access to production data is restricted, and we review our dependencies and infrastructure for vulnerabilities regularly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices, the service, or applicable law changes. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you by email.
